Grihini’s Gift: A Brighter Future for My Children

I come from the Paliyar tribal community in a remote village in the lower hills of Kodaikanal. I had studied only up to Grade 5 before joining Grihini, where I learned to read and write and developed skills in tailoring, knitting, basket-making and handicrafts. I also gained a deeper understanding of nutrition and the importance of local vegetables, herbs and fruits. My experience at Grihini inspired me to prioritise my children’s education. Today, my daughter has completed a B.Com degree, my elder son works as a supervisor in a leather company in Chennai, and my younger son is continuing his schooling. I am proud to see a growing commitment to education among families in my village. I truly believe that Grihini transformed my life and helped create a brighter future for my children.
